erm....IE/OE shouldn't influence that in any way. Guess an "offline" status in OE/IE causes a complete offline status under windows.

ClrMamePro only opens a http connection to clrmame.com/version and reads that file. IIRC it's a systemcall which starts an http connection...maybe the system interfears there somehow. I doubt I can have any influence on that.
Another issue is ztnet. Usually if you try to update cmpro directly after I've uploaded the new files and altered clrmame.com/version, you won't be able to update since ztnet's cache still holds the old version file...after 15 minutes it usually works.
