The only thing different is that you haven't used the -r option (to include renames). If you build ROMs using your 0.84u1 changes dat and copy them over a 0.84 ROM collection, a CMPro scan afterwards will probably show some incorrect names (since MAMEDiff won't have included them in the changes dat). Using the -r option will mean that renames get included in the changes dat and CMPro will give you a clean scan afterwards.
