thanx for your quick reply!
ok
these roms are for example:
4dwarrio, alexkid, bakutotu, baraduke, berabohm, bjtwin, gunsmoke, diamond, imsorry, teddybb, mrvikingn, etc, etc (50 roms under 1 ko, and maybe 20 roms between 1ko and 5 ko)

-------------details for a few roms-------

rom diamond.zip (124 oct (0.124ko))--> inside : prom1 (256oct)
rom gng.zip(138 oct) --> inside tbp24s10.14k (256oct)
rom imsorry.zip (170oct) --> inside pr-5317.76 (256oct)
rom dspirit.zip (2ko) --> inside: ns1-mcu.bin (4096 oct)

etc etc....
------------------------
these roms seem to be useless: for example , the games 4dwarrior or alexkid don't appear on my mame before and after the scan/rebuild.
what are they?
what should I do?
thanx

ps: maybe my roms come from a very old version of mame!
ps: i ask to CMP to fix everything during the scan. these files appears during the scan and not the rebuilding.

The name files are proms (usually used for palettetables information) which are part of the sets. They are NOT unneeded. They are all listed in the datfile/mame's -listinfo output.
