When I check these emu appear follow message:

CMPro found an incompleta datfile or a bad-exe output!
If You're using a datfile, check if it's a valid one.
If You're using a exe-file, test if it's supported, free more diskspace, remove pif-files and try again.

I have many GBytes of free space in my HD and I not have nothing pif files in mame directory.
Anyone know the solution at my prolem?

P.S. sorry for my poor english

- official mame 85u1 works fine. Be sure you got a clean compile. If you haven't done a clean compile, -listxml crashes. If you downloaded it somewhere...well tough luck...better hope they did a clean compile.

- Pinmame hasn't been updated yet and uses an illegal character in its -listxml output. You can change engine.cfg for pinmame. Replace -listxml with -listinfo there.

- misfitmame32 (1/9/04)
not official so I don't care. Most likely their xml output is broken.

I tryed with "mame.exe -listxml" in dos prompt and the lasts rows are these:

PuckMan (Japan set 1)
1980
Namco

-----------------------------------------------------
Exception at EIP=77C136D2: ACCESS VIOLATION
While attempting to read memory at 00000000

ESI=03C39C90 EDI=03C39C90 EBP=0022A908 ESP=0022A8D0

maybe my mame.exe (from emu-france) not support -listxml?

no...it supports it but it's a bad compile. It crashes. If -listxml isn't supported, mame won't output anything, won't crash and would show something like "not supported parameter".

It's not a bug. It's only a compile problem.
