Sounds a bit dangerous to me ;)
While remove-rebuilt-sourcefiles is safe since you got the files in the destination folder, your idea will kill the files. Especially for romsets it can be annoying. Like when the soundemulation of a game isn't finished yet, and the soundroms don't appear in the datfile but appear in the zipfile, they get killed. Or other future supported sets in the folder will be lost, too.
