I'll explain as best as I can, step by step.
I have Mame32 installed as "c:/mame32" (folder). In that folder is my roms folder - or was, but we'll get to that.
Naturally, when I startup Mame, the path specified to load roms is "c:/mame32/roms/name_of_rom". So basically what I'm saying is that I haven't changed a thing.
I recently upgraded from Mame32 .67 to Mame32 .88. That installation went fine. THEN, I tried out ClrMame Pro - scanned and basic fixes, as explained in the earlier post.
That seemed to work just fine, but then I notice: my roms folder has disappeared. Did a search - doesn't show up anywhere on my system at all.
BUT the roms must be there somehow, because Mame has no trouble at all loading them! Doing some further checking, I have determined that the file has not been rendered "invisible" by way of "hidden" or "write-only" file type. The final boggling thing? When I dheck the properties of my Mame32 folder, it COUNTS the file as there - as I posted earlier, 22 instead of the visible 21 - it just doesn't SHOW it.
Bizarre, eh?
I wouldn't even care - hey, it works, right? - but where do I put additional roms?
Hopefully that was clear. I'm not blaming ClrMame Pro, just seems too much of a coincidence, don't you think?
