When I add a new datfile, do I have to go again through the whole setup process, selecting roms, sets and samples paths, selecting the available roms, saving config as default, etc before going to the scanner? It happens also that if I remove a file from the roms folder clrmame is not aware of that! I have to go again to the settings window and rescan the available games. Is it a bug?

Normally you setup one profile per emulator/system once. When the datfile/emulator binary was updated, clrmamepro will detect that the exe or the datfile is a new one, updates your profile when you load it and you simply go to the scanner and scan.

The 'available button' in settings updates its list by pressing it. It won't update the set-list automatically for you. Usually everybody got all sets enabled anyway. You can hide fully missing sets (scanner popupmenu->view->show all missing sets) after a scan anyway, so scanning only available sets is rather obsolete.
