SubjectTemp file problem new Reply to this message

When loading an internal Mame dat file, I get a dialog box after receiving data stating:
"(path)/clrmame/temp/_temp is used by a different program". I can't seem to fix this. I tried using different mame binaries and reloaded clrmame. I'm using a pentium-4 2.8GHZ, WIN98, Mame090, clrmame 3.53a. Thanks for your help.

I waited one day and tried it again without changing anything. It now works! Maybe it has to do with a date/time stamp or something. I'm located in the eastern US. Anyway, I'm merging and validating once again. I love this program!

The cause of this is Win9x. It got problems with some mingw compiled mame binaries. Update to a real OS ;)

Use WinXP/2k/2k3.
The problem is known and not caused by clrmame. It's the combination of a mingw compiled MAME binary and Win9x.

I create identical mame directories on a box with XP to match my Win98 box. I run Clrmame on the XP box and load the Mame profile. Then I copy the Clrmame directory from my XP box to my Win98 box. Run Clrmame on the Win98 box. It will bypass the scanning of the Mame binary. Hope this helps.
