SubjectStrange Request? new Reply to this message

Hey Roman,

Not sure if you'll think this to be a strange request or not, but while scanning many datfiles in one sitting, it would be great if the Esc key took me from the screen with the Scanner, Rebuilder, etc buttons on it (do you have a name for this screen?) to the Profiler.

This way, after a scan, I can hit Esc to close the Stats window, Esc to close the Scanner window, then Esc back to the Profiler. I know I can hit 'P', but that's all the way over the other side of the keyboard! ;)

The only thing to add to the request would be to set the focus to the datfile list when going back to the Profiler, rather than going to the 'Load / Update' button as is does now. That way, when going back to the screen, I could arrow up / down to the next datfile I want to load, then hit Enter. Again, I know I can Shift + Tab to get there, but again it'd be more convenient to have the focus in the datfile list straight up (for me anyway).

As you may notice, I prefer to work with the keyboard rather than the mouse! ;)

Thanks,

SK.

well...it's easy to add the quickchange buttons for the profiler, too. You already have 2 for quick scanner/rebuilder change (alt-1, alt-2 in scanner/rebuilder)....time will tell if I add one for merger/settings/profiler....

Thanks for the reply. My thoughts on the Esc key was that my finger was already on that key, and it had already been used to go back 2 screens (scan stats, then scanner window), why not 1 more press to get back to the Profiler? If it's just an option in the .ini that I have to manually insert, I can live with that ;)

For Profiler screen, I can just hit the Up arrow to get to the datfile list, so that's not a huge deal. Just thought it would be a handy addition.
