SubjectRebuilding art packs is really slow. new Reply to this message

I am trying to rebuild crashtest's art packs (in their original zip files) using a fresh installation of 3.53a and the DAT file included with the latest zip file. I am using all of the default options. I started it two days ago, and it is still running, although the UI in unresponsive.

Thanks!
Andy

Hmmm.....don't know what you used before but I guess 3.54 doesn't contain a "fix" for that. The problem itself sounds weird to me. Most likely some systemrelateed problem. A rebuild (even with recompress on) should take maybe a minute.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the system, or it would manifest itself in some other way. I kept the old version, and the problem still reproduces with 3.53a, but doesn't with 3.54. Let me know if you want to probe this some more.

Hmm..interesting...very interesting. There were no rebuilder core related fixes from 3.53a to 3.54.....so I really wonder why the old hangs while the new doesn't....weird...anyway...if it works fine with the current version.....no need to wonder ;)
