Would it be possible to include a feature in CMP that would delete roms with masked tags?

eg. if you set up a good*dat to mask *[[]b*, could you also delete these files from the rom folder during the scan?

Also- is there a utility available now that anyone would recommend for batch file deletion?

Many thanks.

Well you can disable the 'b' sets in settings->sets->select sets and use the rebuilder with remove-rebuilt-sourcefiles to 'move' them somewhere else.

Thanks for the help Roman, however I encountered another snag while rebuilding...

As we know, the crc32s of many roms show up wrong with cmp.
I noticed that rebuild will not relocate roms that have a bad crc32.

I am only using cmp in this instance for the wildcard facility so that I can swipe all the roms I don't want. Would it be possible to include a 'ignore crc32' function on the rebuilder?

I KNOW that you don't like to compromise the audit just because of GoddTools questionable crc32 handling. And I must say that I completely side with you on that.

However- I think it would be forgivable to include a kind of 'simulate Good* crc32 scanning' button on the scanner & rebuilder, just for the sake of uniformaty between the two tools.

I have been going on about this feature for some time, I know, but if there is anyway to integrate an 'ignore header' feature while scanning the rest of the file, I would be forever grateful!

Regards as always!

No. They are correct. Your files are wrong since they either have a wrong byteorder or a useless header.

No, since this doesn't make sense. The rebuilder IS a crc32 compare routine.

Wow! Fast reply!
Firstly let me apologise...
> > As we know, the crc32s of many roms show up wrong with cmp.

I did not mean to imply that cmp scanned incorrectly, I simply meant that many cmp scanned roms (correctly!) show that the crc32s are out, whereas they don't with GoodTools. I worded that horribly and I'm sorry.

Sure. Like I said- I just wanted to use cmp for its wildcard facilities, as I haven't been able to find an affordable external tool that can do this.

Many thanks Roman
