Hi Roman,

I have a full set of ROMs for MAMEv95, without a trace of CHD's (i.e. no ROMs, and no disk images). When I perform a scan, the CHDs are not displayed as missing folders (i.e. a plain red cross, as opposed to a folder icon with a red cross)

Is this a bug, or is there something I'm missing?

The reason this is a problem is because I would like to be able to produce a .dat for "Incomplete" sets only, and I don't like having to delete all of the CHD entries.

Hope this makes sense,

Cheers,

a_m.

*** edit *** I am using 363a, and I apologise if this has been asked already, but I can't get the search function to work on this site.

well...of course the datfile has to use disk () statements and you have to enable settings->diskimages + (at least) missing to show missing chds....and don't forget the latest version is 3.63b.

Sorry Roman, I don't understand this bit.

> and you have to enable settings->diskimages + (at least) missing to show missing chds

When scanning, I only have the following checked:-

"You want to scan" Roms

"You prefer" Split sets

"'NoDump" Handling" Create Missing, Hide Missing

Check and Fix EVERYTHING except "Checksums" SHA1 stuff.

My original question still stands:- If I don't have the Rom images for the CHDs (nor the Disk images either), shouldn't they show up as missing sets, rather than incomplete sets?

Sorry, I'll get up to date ASAP!

Thanks for your help matey,

well...if you want to scan chdfiles, the used database (MAME import or datfile) needs chdfile-entries. They are listed with disk ( ) statements. If the used database doesn't have them, you won't be able to enable the diskimages option in the scanner.

aha....you have to enable diskimages as well if you want to see messages for chdfiles.

Yes..of couse they appear as missing sets if they are missing completely. If they appear as incomplete sets, you DO have parts of the set.
