There appears to be full source included in their download:

According to 7-zip.org the source appears to be available under the LGPL or CPL licenses. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Me, I'm happy with regular ole zip, in fact i'd unzip all my roms if I thought mame would load them faster - hard disk space is cheap. RAM and Mhz are expensive. ;)
