No. It only didn't prompt for a filename when you already specified one. If you used a new profile it always asked you for a place to store.

It wasn't in an earlier version. When you selected the "update" button when an update datfile was found, you always got a "datfile updated successfully".

Easy answer: If you use datfiles without headerentries, the update routine might have chosen a wrong one to update since there was no sign of what to update.

The backupfolder is automatically internally added as an addpath for scanner and rebuilder. If you select the rebuilder "use addpath" option instead of a single sourcefolder, you better not forget that an optional enabled "remove rebuilt sourcefiles" will remove files from the backupfolder if something matches and is rebuilt.
