For some reason, every time i do a scan on my mame set (any version for the last 10), it always attempts to remove diggerc\dig-sp1.bin. if i say no, it marks it as unneeded, if i say yes, it puts it in the backup folder. So far.. no problems.

If i hit scan immediately, the same rom then shows up again as missing. if i rebuild at this point, the rom is built back into my set. (taking me to point a).

If i use fast scans after it has been rebuilt in, i have no further issues until i hit "scan" again.

This to me is a very odd issue, so i'm not sure what info will be of help.

I have only seen this so far on MAME dats, none of the other dats that i scan have had this error.

I have seen it for at least the last 20 versions.

I use a merged mame set, i don't know if this is the cause of the problem or not, i don't have the space to build a split set as well.

Let me know if you need any more information.

So I guess it's dat related or file related.
I assume you use the latest MAME, so the dat should be the same...hopefully...If you use an external dat, send it to me...Diggerc...I will check that at the morning....
It would be good if you send me your set for test purposes, too. The one where it marks the file as unneeded, not the one where it was already removed.

What you could test first is, clear the cache and reget the data. Or try a newly created profile. Or rezip the zipfile (unzip, delete old, zip the data to a new archive).

I already tested diggerc and didn't find any problem.

So....send me your data.

I extracted diggerc, and went through, and all was well, i added the cvs resource, and it repeated the problem. i extracted the dat samples from both the version of the dat i use (robber804) and one directly from mame 97u1.

I also tried extracting the zip file completely and rebuilding from the individual roms with no luck.

I have rar'd up both dats, the exact zip file I have been using, as well as the two .cmp settings files.

I will email them to you promptly.
