SubjectFeature-Request: Amiga disk files new Reply to this message

Hi,

I was playing around with clrmamepro and some amiga games I have. They were stored in the following formats:
1 plain adf files
2 gzipped adf-files named .adz
3 gzipped adf-files names .adf.gz
4 zip archives containing any of the above file types
5 zip archives containing zips that contained any of the above types

Clrmamepro only worked with type 1 and type 4 containing plain adf files and did not recognize the other.

Could you please add support for gzipped files in any fashion and support for zips in zips?

Walkiri

clrmamepro supports the following 2 scan methods:

rompath\setname\file 1 ... file n for unzipped sets
rompath\setname.zip for zipped sets.

Gzip isn't supported and zips in zips should work fine (as long as they're used that way in the datfile). It may have some problems when you want to use the rebuilder to add an u nzipped zip inside a zip....since it will look inside the zip for a filematch 8) biting its own tail hehehe...scanning

Additional gzip support won't happen in the near future.

Well...of course you can use the ones in 2) and 3) as long as you follow the scanner rule:
rompath\setname\file 1 ... file n for unzipped sets
rompath\setname.zip for zipped sets

so either you use a rompath subfolder to keep the gz file in it (one per set) or you put the gz inside a zip 8)

I do not understand: You write a) "gzip is not supported" and b) "it is supported when inside zip"?

They are supported as files inside a zip no matter if they are gz or not. Of course the datfile has to provide the correct information of the gz file then...so instead having a datfile which lists the information about the files inside the gz...you can have a dat with the information of the gz ;)
