SubjectAuto-save-fixdatfile request new Reply to this message

Of the many DATs I have, only one of them do I use the auto-save-fixdatfile feature after every scan. The fix DAT it creates is then saved to a shared network folder where I can easily pull it onto my laptop, collect any missing sets, then use my laptop to distribute those sets between my two PCs. I can now no longer have this setup, seeing as the auto-save-fixdatfile feature is now global to all DATs, and that all fix DATs can only be saved within the ClrMAMEpro directory.

Would you please consider restoring this feature back to its former state, so that I can use this option on an individual DAT only and save the DAT to wherever I choose?

peace,

The majority of users wanted the profiler-style-folder-structure autosave fixdatoption.The normal way to save a fixdat (with remembering the path) is still in, so using it to save a fixdat to your specified folder is still possible and not too much additional work. The current way stays in...maybe I add an option to set the rootfolder for fixdats.

Is that something I can do myself in the ini, or does it have to be done in the code on your end? I don't mind having to work to get it to do what I want ;)

I respect that you are sticking to what the majority want, and appreciate that you would also consider the option to let the user set the default path as well. A question though, would this new feature still use the same directory structure found in the Profiler, or would it be possible to have all fix-DATs save to the root folder?

Thanx again for such a great, fully featured program.

It's just the scanner->popupmenu->Save->Fixdatfile option ;)
