SubjectThree Things new Reply to this message

Hi Roman,

Just a couple of things that have sprung to mind over the last few days for you to ponder ;)

1) When dragging dats into the Profiler, when it asks for the folder to put them in, would it be possible to select the folder you are currently browsing by default?

2) In the scanner stats / logfile, would it be possible to add the total size of what's missing? (this one was not my idea, came from someone too scared to ask you themself....lol)

3) I notice when doing a scan batch-run, if you run a rebuild, there is the option (in fact, it's on by default) to show the rebuilder stats once that step has been run. Would it be possible to add this as an option for when you drag / drop files into the Scanner window? Sometimes I'm not following what's on screen for a few seconds, but would have liked to see the summary of what it scanned / found, etc.

Thanks for listening to my random musings!

SK.

Well...it's of course possible....but how will you handle the cases where the user wants to put it somewhere else. Only possible way is to display the tree and autoselect the current folder directly......guess you mean that already and not hiding the tree selector completely.

I'm too scared to answer 8) People shouldn't care so much about the statistics window anyway. It calculate values without caring about parent/clone relationships...so you actual number of missing files can differ a lot from the ones you actually miss with your selected merge method. Same for filesizes. The already shown set sizes are caluclated on the filesizes given in the dat, let's say the unpacked size of a set. Of course I can display the total number but I think all stats information is obselete anyway 8) What really counts is the scanresults tree.

The default is to hide it 8)

Possible of course. It's disabled there because it really is a pain if you drag&drop things more often....drop->rebuild->click on ok to close rebuildstats->auto fastscan->drop->rebuild....
I can of course add it as an optional feature.

so...to sum it: all 3 can be done rather easily...I like the 1st one....2nd one..well...the values aren't accurate anyway.....last one...only optional since I hate clicking ok before the auto-fastscan updates my tree.

Yep, spot on, that's what I mean. Just to default the new folder-window to the selected folder.

If it's simply the sum of what's missing, most of the parent/clone issues would already be taken care of. If you're missing a rom from the parent set, it doesn't appear in the clones as well (well, most cases anyway). That may only be true with the merging option I use (Split sets, where possible), but worth an ask anyway. If it's totally pointless, never mind, but if it's reasonably easy and painless to add.... ;)

hmmm....'Don't show statistics' is not ticked here, don't remember unticking it :\ Ah well, moving on....

An option for this (off by default) is fine with me.

in fact I don't know anymore and I can't look at the source at the moment....

Nope 8) as I said....it's not well hidden....in other words, no weird key combination has been used.....maybe just one left click here and a right click there 8)
