Addpaths are used for 2 things: In the scanner they are used for searching missing files (when enabling check missing). Keep your newly collected sets in addpaths and check/fix missing will pick them up and adds them to your collection.
In the rebuilder, addpaths can be used as multiple-rebuilder sourcefolders.

Addpaths are stored per profile. The global addpath is used by any profile.
