No, I don't think so. I chose Proto-Host on the recommendation of a work colleague and in the past two years he's not had any issues with them (until this outage). They offer great value for money and seeing as it comes out of my own pocket, that is an important factor for me. The only downside with 'value for money' is that under these circumstances, the site is unavailable for longer than I'd like. Switching hosts would take quite some effort on my part and anyway, hardware issues like this could happen to any host. Besides, I don't have time to pick a new host, get everything uploaded, configure everything and issue the DNS changes before my holiday. ;)
