When some datfile providers and I planned the www-support we tried to minimize the bandwidth usage as much as possible. An automatic periodically refreshing of the list was not accepted at this planning state. Although we're aware of a not-up-to-date datlist and people trying to download not-existing dats. Currently we got a discussion about the increase of html 404 errors on the sides......so sooner or later something will happen to prevent this.
