my system default paths have been all unchecked accept the one pointing to atlusPSX.

I have missng checked in the scanner. (not to fix)

So what's your goal then? Show the missing files for atlusPSX sets? Easy. Disable all systems but atlusPSX in Systems and do a scan with at least sets + roms + missing enabled.

Most likely you got the scanner popupmenu option "View->show all missing sets" disabled....ENABLE IT and rescan.

Well...maybe you got all the files of that selected system ;) If you disable sets or systems (and keep only one enabled), all roms of the disabled sets/systems will appear in the scan statistics as missing. They won't appear in the tree.

For the new test:
If you deleted a chd, you have to enable the diskimage option of course.
And of course, do a scan, not a fastscan.

I included my chd folder in my rom's path. It has every rom in it. I deleted one rom in there. I have the diskimage checked, and also selected all sets from systems, and had missing checked. I did a scan and no missing roms show up?

** update I removed my folder fromthe settings and it shows all chd missing? I'm going to play with it for a bit***

Maybe you don't miss them 8)...or got "ROMS" disabled.

Enable the ROMS checkbox and setup one empty path as rompath, do a scan. Every rom should get listed as missing then (except you got the already mentioned show all missing sets option disabled).

turns out I had dup zip's in a few folders that were not good zips. It was picking up the names, and listing them is found roms. Once I turned on show dup's and move to correct folder sets It fixed it all up. But the wierd thing is If I had check sums checked, it would not tell me about the bad zips. I also had file size checked and it still didnt detect them. I also tried unzip and check. I also need to get my chd's moved in to the corisponding folders and I cant get the scanner to do that?

Usually bad zips (corrupt data / corrupt structure) would be listed in the dockable warningswindow below the scanner.
If you enable settings->zipsettings->full zip structure scan, you get an even stricter zipscanner (which is a bit slower though).

Bad zips are usually detected and skipped (so all roms in that set appear as missing). If you talk about crc32 errors while decompressing the zips, you have to enable Scanner->Checksums->unzip rom and calculate crc32.
