Hi there - a bit newbie and a bit not at all...

Been using clrmamepro for years on mame-roms, and just tried it on Vpinmame-roms. Now I would like to use it on the tables too, but I'm not getting it - how? Got the datfiles (dl'd from RomManager-site) and loads the dat-file for the tables just like for the roms and creates something in the profiler. But what do I do in the scanner? I cant find any Tables-path-line only sets, roms etc. (tried both, but failed) ... anyone got a clue?

You use non-rom specific data (e.g. png files for MAME misc artwork) in the same way as you know it from MAME with roms. Sets stay sets of files, roms correspond to the files inside the sets, so anything with a given length and checksum and a name.

You only have to care about setting up rompaths correctly. Always keep in mind the 2 scan modes:

rompath\setname\file 1 ... file n for unzipped sets
rompath\setname.zip for zippped sets where file 1..file n are stored in the zipfile.

So take a look at the used datfile and setup rompaths accordingly.

- This means my tables and romfiles should be in one zip (one for each pinball-game - rom agent777.zip and table Agents 777 in same zip and maybe all other agents 777-files too)?

- Well I never did scan for sets before... allways just for roms, using cmpro.

No. The datfile tells you what belongs to which set. A table datfile usually includes only table related files, not roms.

Argh...sets should be ALWAYS enabled.

Take a look at the datfile (e.g. in a texteditor) and look how sets are specified. I guess one set per table...if you don't see anything remarkable, you can use the rebuilder and simply drag'n drop anything you got...

I find it a bit difficult doing what you told me to - don't know what excactly I'm looking for...

In fact...you don't have to care. The datfile lists table files grouped in sets, so you can simply setup a rompath and put the sets in there. So if your rompath is C:\pinballtables, you should have a for example a "Zap Trap [Original]" folder in there or a "Zap Trap [Original].zip" file containing the 3 listed files.
Shouldn't be a problem at all. What you can do is, simply rebuild all your misc table files to a rompath. That's the usual way to add new sets or clean up a folder of unsorted misc stuff.
