SubjectHow to convert MAME ROM into Xcade's ROM (*.pdb)? Reply to this message

I still don't understand how to do this. I want to run rom on my Palm TT with Xcade program. To convert rom I have unzipped it to a folder, started clrmame, loaded profile from xcadeDAT-file in Profiler, then started Rebuilder, showed folder with unpacked ROM as a source-folder, pointed destination and pressed "Rebuild". In statistics window I saw: "Source-Files: 31

--> now even counting files within ZIPs <--

Analyzed Files: 58
Created Files: 0

Matched Files: 0
Skipped Files: 58

Whad have I done wrong?

I have no idea which datfile you're using or what you try to do....but the main rebuild procedure is the following:

1) load a datfile which will represent the data you want to convert to.

2) go to the rebuilder, setup a destination where the new data should be placed. The sourcefolder should point to the files from where you want to convert. Rebuild. In the destination folder you will find all valid roms which from the source which match a file in the datfile.

Notes: For multiple sourcefolders use addpaths and/or the subfolder flag. Only VALID files are rebuilt. This means checksum and size checks identifies files in the datfile. All files which match will be rebuilt. This means if 20 sets share one rom, all 20 sets will be created with at least that one rom. There is no need in unzipping anything.

If your destination doesn't contain all files from the source (which is a common thing) the reason can be found in:

- the datfile is a subset of the old collection
- your sourcefiles doesn't match anything in the datfile and won't be copied to the destination.
