Roman,

When scanning the PASSIGAR collection many ROMs are shown as being incorrectly named and CMP will try to rename them. Further scanning then results in more badly named ROMs and further attempts to rename. No error messages occur.

This behaviour does not exist in 3.88 (cannot comment on 3.89 as I do not have it) and the sets scan correctly.

PASSIGAR does have some rather long paths to deal with so I have tried renaming the folders to something much smaller - the result is the same. It seems that where a ROM name has a "%" in it that it gets confused.

If anyone else could confirm this behaviour in 3.89a that would be good :)

Cheers,
Terra Cresta

Mail me the dat and maybe an example zip. Maybe you disabled or enabled the Ansi/OEM conversion while it has to be disabled/enabled?

Done.

Toggling the ANSI/OEM switch doesn't change the behaviour. Additionally, 3.88 scans the example folder in just a few seconds, 3.89a takes a couple of minutes.

More light to shed..... it *appears* the behaviour is specific to zip files which have embedded folders within them. For example,

wrong name: J:\ROMs\PASSIGAR\Project Agi Sci & Scumm Interpreter & Games Analyzer & Renamer (Sci Data)\Gabriel Knight - data (1993-12-04)(Dos9x)(640x480x256)[En#En](Sci32)[2.000.000][v01.000.000][1x650MB][uses 6C6F99EE]\0.MSG [wrong: 0.MSG] [right: PATCHES\0.MSG]

hmm....there were some changes in 3.89a for that...interesting. Anyway...guess I have an example file when I'm back home, haven't I? ;)
