Clrmamepro only refreshes the list on startup and on pressing the refresh button. When reentering the profiler, the list isn't refreshed but redrawn (ie, the dats aren't scanned again from disk).

As far as I know from Tauchy, large profile collections (>800 profiles) take only about 8 seconds to be displayed in the profiler anyway. Some versions ago a lot of speed improvements for this has been done, the settingsfiles have to be refreshed though (by loading them once).

I know there are 3rd party tools which create profiles/settingsfiles out there for you (esp. for tosec). Don't use them. They don't use the optimized format. If you're using an old default.cmp, you should update that, too.
