I'm wanting to maintain a split rom set without clones to reduce disk space.

Is there an option in clrmame to hide missing clones ?

That's not a wise idea. There are a lot sets where only the clone(s) work while the parent doesn't.

You disable all clones in the set information window (http://www.clrmame.com/sets.jpg) by using the "select sets" edit box. Enter "%c=?*" (without the quotes) and press 'apply' and 'invert'. Be sure to have the Parent/Clone checkbox disabled.
