Set-ZipFile AND Set-Folder exist in the same ROM-Path

I get this message for these 3 sets:
Street Fighter Alpha Warriors
Street Fighter Zero
X-Men Children of the Atom

I use full-merged roms.

Thanks for the help.

First of all, be sure you're using 3.97a. The message is caused by Scanner's advance option "unneeded check looks for dupe sets" and simply means that clrmamepro found either a set zipfile and a set subfolder, or two set zipfiles (or subfolders) in your rompath(s). Like 'pacman.zip' in rompath 1 and another 'pacman.zip' in rompath 2. Or a 'pacman' subfolder in rompath 1 and another pacman.zip in rompath 1.

In your case it's most likely caused by existing subfolders for the cps2 chd files. As I said: Firstly update to 3.97a and recheck. There was a fixed issue for full merged sets in 3.97a.

StreetFighterZero for example: You need one sfa.zip file holding your roms (fully merged all its clones) and one sfa subfolder holding the chd. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well...of course it depends on the datfile (or direct MAME import) you're using. If the data doesn't include the cps2 chds for example but you do have them (and their belonging subfolders), the message is correct since from the datfile-side-of-view you don't need the chdfolders.

Thank you Roman. Your explanation was very clear. I now understand what is causing the message. Take care!

So updating cmpro solved your problem? Or did you really have some unneeded double file/folders?

Hi Roman,

I went back to my mamebox to apply my newly found knowledge (sort of). Here's my observations, maybe you can shed a little light on them.

First, I am using Clrmame 3.97a and Mame 0.111u1 (P4 Optimized).

Second, the checkbox in the "Advance" section listed as "unneeded check looks for dupe sets" had no effect on the results of my full scan. Whether it was check or not, it still reported the set/subfolder message.

Third, I do have an sfa.zip and a sfa sub-folder containing the chd's. So the messeage is correct. I only have one rom path defined. However, using this logic, shouldn't I get the same message for area51? I currently do not. I have an area51.zip and a area51 sub-folder containing the chd's. I have attached some screenshots to show you. Hopefully I have done this correctly as I have not posted screenshots before.

Thank you for your time and patience with me. I'm not the expert that you are and I hope you don't 'flame" me too bad if I am totaly wrong about this.

Hmmm...You don't see the effect on Area51 because this set uses chds and for such sets, the warning is disabled.
Now you'd say: But sfa does use chds, too. Well...Point taken...the thing is that not sfa but clones of it use chds, so it complains about sfa having a folder and zipfile in your rompaths.
But exactly this thing (clones do have chds while the parent doesn't) was fixed in 3.97a. So I really wonder why you still get it. One possible option would be that your imported data simply doesn't include the chds for that cps2 set.

Anyway... I will recheck that issue later at home...

ok...you're right...It's not dupe based and funnily enough it's a totally different check. Last time I fixed that issue for the dupe check...and now I just fixed it for this additional check.

Next version probably monday....

Thanks for the headup
