I've been using ClrMame only rarely in the last few years as I'm mostly using Mac OS X. Using an emulator like VirtualPC (how suitable is that for making a an emulation related utility run? :-) ) basically worked, but was too slow to do any serious work.

Now with the latest Intel based batch of Macintosh computers and virtualization packages like Parallels or VMware (or Windows32 API reimplementations like CodeWeavers CrossOver), running ClrMame on my Mac has become a much more pleasant experience.

My only gripe is, MacOS X puts an invisible file called ".DS_Store" in most of its folders to remember things like window positions and icon spacings, and those files all show up in the log as unnecessary files and it's rather tedious to sort those 'false' messages out.

So my humble feature request is: would it be possible to just ignore files starting with a '.' (UNIX convention for invisible files) as no ROM file should ever start with a dot symbol? Maybe adding an option to CMP to ignore those files would be better than ignoring them by default?

I'd be very grateful if you'd add that functionality, but even if you don't, CMP is a very valuable utility that I'd like to thank you for!

Settings -> Path Selector -> Unneeded Masks -> *.DS_Store (or .DS_Store)

Oh, I didn't know of that feature, works perfectly!

Thank you very much.
