SubjectIs it a bug or is it me? new Reply to this message

Hi Roman,
using 3.99 with 0.112u2 (self compiled) I'm scanning "sets" and "roms" (samples and CHDs are NOT checked) and in my scan result the 6 cubocd32 games are shown as missing.
They are games with a BIOS (I have it) and with CHDs, but no roms.
Is this the correct behaviour?
Shouldn't clrmame avoid to show them? (they have no roms, therefore they are not missing at all!)

Well..you scan for sets, that's why they are listed as missing. A set is a collection of roms and/or samples and/or chds. If you'd scan for roms only they won't be listed.

So this is by design? the cubocd32 games don't have any roms of their own. They are all BIOS roms.

So what? A set is a set is a set...

A set can have roms and/or samples and/or chds. The cd32 games are sets which only include chds. Easy as that. As long as you don't have the chds and got 'sets' enabled, the sets are listed as missing. That's just logical.

Ok, now I do understand better how clrmame is working.
It's all right with me I do not suffer from "green dot syndrome"....

Thanks Roman.

I guess you can fool cmpro's setcheck by simply adding emptry chd subfolders for the CD32 sets.

I actually edit the dat to remove the CHDs, so in my case, the SET has just two ROMs which are all BIOSs roms. Should that set come up as missing if the BIOS ROMs are set to be seperated?
