SubjectMissing? Reply to this message

Hi,
When I scan my sets CLRMame says I miss 30 roms but they are all there. Every scan indicates the same 30 roms missing. They are all new roms from the 112u3 release and all of them are of the "Dance Dance" category. I'm using CLRMame 3.99.
Am I doing something wrong here ?

Well...easy answer, if cmpro lists them as missing, you do miss them 8)

Look at the scan results tree window, it'll tell you exactly what's wrong with the set. Post what's listed there (e.g. a screenshot of the full expanded tree). If you're sure you got the sets, look at the warnings window (the dockable below the scanner) for possible other error messages.

The DDR sets all require a rom set, a bios set and a chd file to work. If cmpro lists the sets you either miss one of them or got wrong files.

That's what wmakes it strange I really do have them ... some aren't reported as missing and some are. All missing roms posted here are in fact in their respective directories ... I never had this kind of problem... I must be overlooking something.
Example:in the directory ddr3mp there are 5 files:
a22jaa02.chd
gca22ja.u1
gca22ja.u6
gea22ja.u1
gea22ja.u6
Three roms arent reported as missing and two are ...

I will look at it later at home. Please post (or send me) a screenshot of a) the scanner settings, b) your folder which holds the files.

For now I can only assume that you use wrong rompaths, wrong setnames or something like that.

I've recreated your environment and can't repeat your reported behaviour at all. I can only assume that
a) a different program locks the files somehow (so turn off all kind of virusscanner, zip tools, antispyware stuff running in background)

b) the folders rights are wrongly assigned, so cmpro doesn't have access rights.

What you can do is, move the files to a different folder, or zipup the files. (and of course be sure you use an official direct MAME.exe import as database source).

I zipped them up (and also quit virus scanner, ...) but then CLRMame says my CHD's are not needed ?!
I sent you 2 screenshots to look at ... it's strange ... I never had this kind of behaviour before with CLRMame...

TIA.

I mailed you back already. I can only assume something interfears. It's weird that it's only the Konami stuff. Maybe the folder access rights are wrong.
Try to simplify the issue as much as possible (e.g. by only using one rompath with one set) and send me your cmpro installation.
If possible, try a different hd or pc.

Ok, this is embarassing:
I found what seems to be the fault (my fault) ... I had them in a seperate directory and also in a zip ... some roms in the zips were missing and that's what CLRMame is reporting ...
I'm very sorry to have bothered you with this ... I obviously wasn't awake !
Thanks for all the help though!

8) Well...good to hear that you found the problem. Still interesting because cmpro should be able to work with split up sets which are active in various rompaths (although the dupe check (if active) will warn you....). But there are also some speed optimizations which skip unzipped sets when a zipped set was found (iirc this is only done in the same rompath).

Anyway...good you found the problem...now update to 3.99a ;)
