IIRC, to use this "Datfile Folder" feature, your new datfiles have to be in a folder structure already.
Example: You use a zipfile where dats are included and they are already structured in folders in the zipfile:

Zip:
minor_emus\shark\shark.dat
major_emus\raine\raine_0_5.dat

If you drag'n drop this zip into the rebuilder you'll be asked to which root profile folder these zips should be added. After importing them they keep the folder structure from the zip.

Well...have to recheck that later at home, but maybe your dats aren't imported with existing subfolders, so that 'datfile folder' can't be used at all....
anyway...will look if I can create an example later on today.
