CMP v3.100
Mame32.114
Vista32

Hi,
i have some missing mame rom sets in the statistics that shouldn't be there i think. I attached some screenshots. 'Mark NoDump as unneeded' is activated.

Some ppl say those sets don't show up at their systems and its an individual problem but there are several other ppl as well who complain about exactly the same 7 missing mame rom sets.

Same thing happens with sample sets. 16 are found as missing but are tagged as '???' clearly in Mame32. I think those are known 'NoDumps' and shouldn't go into missing statistic to get a 'green dot' state.

First time i run into this problem. CMP changed 'NoDump' behaviour lately maybe? Or data transfered from Mame32 to CMP buggy?

The output is fine.

The nodump part:

The scan results tree is empty because you set nodump handling to 'hide missing'.

The statistics window on the other hand is something different. It shows general stats. So you're missing let's say 80 roms and they are correctly listed as 80/xxxx (80 are nodumps).

The cd32 sets part:

People often think a set set is just some roms. This is not true. A set is not only a collection of roms. A set is a collection of roms and/or samples and/or chds. The cd32 sets are a biosset + chdfiles. If you miss the chd and scan for 'sets + missing', the set is listed as missing. So..everything's perfectly fine. If you don't want to see the cd32 sets as missing but don't have the chds, I guess you can fool cmpro by adding rompath subfolders for the cd32 chds in the usual way.

In the case of 'samples' all 16 missing sets contain only 'nodump' flagged files. There always were NoDump files before and resulted in a 'green dot' since NoDumps (only) are ok for a complete archive, aren't they? Why is it different this time (red dot)?

Since samples don't have a checksum in a pure MAME based datfile, you can't use the nodump handling for it.
If you use the samples datfile provided on my page, you can easily hide the fully nodump sets with 'hide missing'. But even then for the samples datfile, the dot will appear red. I know why and I might change it in a future version.

I do use the samples datfile provided on your page.
The problem is (was) that new cmp versions seem to have changed behaviour. I always had nodump in the dats and green state anyway. I never had red dot with samples after updating them.

But everything's clear now i think... thx

Nice!

I think its much more intuitiv now that the green dot indicates every possible file is present.
