I was just wondering how people go about checking their GoodTools collections using clrmame. Because GoodTools no longer release dat files, how can it be done? I have run all mine through GoodTools and they checkout fine, but I here that also running them through clrmame is a good idea. Why is this? The same goes for checking TOSEC collections.

Simply by using datfiles. Looks like you didn't look at the right places for datfiles. As far as I know tosec and good datfile packs are released constantly.

Any chance you could give me a clue as to where to get them from? I did a Google search but it just keeps directing me to a French website that looks like it no longer exists.

normally they are exchanged in irc, but maybe http://www.rommanager.com/ is a start.

Thanks Roman but rommanager oly has links to the GoodTools website which in turn only has the goodXXX.exe files and not dats.
