SubjectMame 0.34 & Clrmame 3.102c new Reply to this message

I'm having a bit of trouble with clrmame 3.102c in that in the profiler I'm trying to create a dat from the Mame 0.34.exe but when I go to Load/Update it says "Found an incomplete datfile or a bad exe-output! If your using a datfile, check if it's a valid one. If you're using an exe-file, test if it's supported, free more diskspace, remove pif-files and try again." I have selected OLD_MAME from the Create Profile Directly From Emulator but still it says this. I got the mame.exe off mame net and have tried a couple of other older versions of Mame with the same message result. Can someone help?.

For such an old MAME version (why the hell do you use that????), you have to switch to 'OLD_MAME' in the profiler create window.

Thanks for your reply Roman. I was trying to use it to create the 0.34 set for MAME4ALL for the PSP. I do have it set to OLD_MAME but still the same message. It doesn't really matter now as I found a set for MAME4ALL.

You can send me that mame binary and I will have a look. Maybe it's that old that it doesn't even support -listinfo (the old database export function).

I have an old dat made by BenJos. I tried to run the EXE, but it balked @ my x64 OS. Maybe a VM will work...

well..the reason for the problem is the

resource ( name ym3812....

at the end of the -listinfo output. It's a biosset definition for samples (which isn't supported by cmpro...maybe I add it for completness). Removing it will fix the problem.

hmm....guess it's not that sample resource...It's just a 64bit incompatibility of that exe...I loaded the datfile with the ymsomething resource statement just fine. Weird...can't repeat it here at home....will try tomorrow on a laptop some elsewhere....

ok, I've tested it again....it's pure related to that exe file. It doesn't create a -listinfo output if you call it from within cmpro. Looks like it's one of the old known gcc compile issues. So...purely MAME binary related. You can manually extract a datfile from the exe though.
