I read the tutorial on the clrmame site but I still cannot figure if this program does what I need it too. I think it does but I wanted to ask.

Basically I have .97 MAME and want to update to .117 because I finally updated my Cab and Galaga stopped working.

Will this program update my .97 MAME ROMS to .117? I know where to get the DAT file and I kinda can work my way through the program but I still cannot figure out if this program will do that.

Of you can use cmpro to update your roms but of course (if new roms were added) you need the new roms. clrmamepro does all the rest for you but it can't magically create missing files.

For MAME you don't even need a datfile, use profiler's create options instead.


Load 117 (or whatever new data), and scan your old sets and you'll see what's wrong with it. If it's fixable, cmpro can fix it. If you need to add new files, you can either use the rebuilder option or fix missing. Anyway, check out the several tutorials mentioned on the about page.
