SubjectClrMAME Pro 3.10.30 and sfiii3a set new Reply to this message

Hi,

I am using ClrMAME Pro 3.10.30 and split sets. When I scan my sets, ClrMAME gives me a clean bill of health, however, when I try to run sfiii3a, MAME complains that I'm missing files. When I manually add the missing files (just one file) to sfiii3a.zip and place it in my roms folder, MAME will play the game. If I run ClrMAME, ClrMAME deletes the file stating that I don't need it. One of these programs is lying.

Please help.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason

Playability doesn't have anything to do with correctness of sets. clrmamepro follows the extract of MAME's database. I will have a look at your report tomorrow but I'm sure that cmpro is correct.

to clarify ... when I said that MAME plays the sets, I meant that MAME loads the set.

Also, here is the set in question:

Street Fighter III 3rd Strike - Fight for the Future (USA, 990608)

Thanks,

Jason

ok..tested it. It runs perfectly fine with official mame .118u1.
cmpro and MAME need the split-merged set sfiii3a as follows:

sfiii3\cap-33s-2.chd

The set itself is a "fake-clone", i.e. it's fully identical to its parent set (sfiii3), which only consists of sfiii3_usa.29f400.u2.

To sum it up: I don't see any issue here.

Yes, it was with the stupid front end I am using. It only supports split sets. So, the front end doesn't see a "sfaiii3a.zip" file so it errors out.

Sorry Roman. : )
