Hi roman,

I can't seem to get clrmame to produce a fixdat under Vista. It worked fine in XP. The only difference other than the OS is that clr resides on my E:\clrmame whereas in XP, all my stuff was in C:\clrmame

I develop and work under Vista and it works fine here. Check your settings and folders again please.
For Vista be sure:

- keep cmpro in a not-system-monitored/secured path (i.e. NOT c:\programs)
- you might want to check if running the program as admin works better (right click "run as administrator").

Running as admin didn't fix the issue and the cmp folder is on a non-system partition. Where is the default location for saving the datafile? Maybe I'm looking for it in the wrong place ;)

If you save a fixdat, you select the folder. If you use the auto-save fixdat functionality, it's saved in cmpro's fixdat folder.

If I attempt to manually save, it doesn't bring up the box allowing me to pick the location. Autosaving fixdat isn't producing either. Again, tried running admin with no luck. Odd problem. Do you have UAC enabled? Is your Vista machine fully updated?

** After playing around a bit that I can save a fixdat but only if I select the option " currently selected set only ". None of the other selections work. the other options like have/miss do produce files.

I've got UAC enabled and doesn't run it as admin. Installed in d:\cmpro. Works like a charm here. Seems to be related to your system somehow...esp. if it doesn't show the file-save dialog.

Would I be correct in assuming that cmp won't attempt to generate a fixdat if the only files you're missing are no dumps or something? According to the scan I'm missing 14 of 6737 and its showing missing roms as 18 and 18 are nodumps. I deleted a set from my roms folder, rescanned and it made a fixdat. Sorry to be an asshat :(
