SubjectProblem with latest CLmamepro new Reply to this message

I have a new install of the latest clmamepro. I double click the .exe and i get a message saying Welcome to clmamepro. Then I click ok and then nothing happens. I see clmamepro in the bar at the bottom in XP but when I double click on it or right click, nothing happens.

I have even created a shortcut and gone to properties to tell the program to run maximised but that does not work either.

Anyone know why suddenly after using this program for some tume it no longer works for me?

Thanks all.

most likely you got some bad coordinates in the ini file for the main window or profiler window.
Open cmpro.ini, check lines and adjust the values (e.g. use the below ones):
Win_ProfilerDlgTop = 50
Win_ProfilerDlgBottom = 680
Win_ProfilerDlgLeft = 80
Win_ProfilerDlgRight = 1047
Win_MainDlgX = 840
Win_MainDlgY = 525

on the other hand, a clean install to a new folder shouldn't cause any trouble at all...just tested it here and the profiler pops up perfectly.

or...zip up the full cmpro folder and send it to me for checking....

Thanks for your reply. I think the problem might be that I don't have a clmamepro.ini at all. I have downloaded the .rar and the .exe form the site again and neither have a .ini.

If the .ini is created after running the program and then closing it for the first time then I guess this is not going to be created as I don't see a window after clicking ok and have to end the process in task manager.

I also tried using a previous install .ini and placing it in the new install directory. But I got a message about using a new version and clearing a cache then nothing happened.

There is no cmpro in a rar file. Please load it from the official place. Zip/exe only.

Yes, cmpro.ini is generated when you leave the program for the first time. But as mentioned, it should work flawlessly on a new installation since it uses default window positions then.

Weird thing. Try to right-click the taskline and select minimize/maximize or whatever.

In case you're using Vista, try to install cmpro in a non-UAC controlled folder (e.g. D:\cmpro) or try to run it as administrator (right-click exe -> run as administrator)

Can you give me some more details about your system specs? Or can you contact me via email so that I can send you testbuilds?

I just got some positioning problems too.
Seems that CMP doesn't remember properly window coordinates when part of the window is outside the screen.

If it's outside the current resolution, cmpro resets the values. That's a normal behaviour.

He talks about a clean installation which doesn't even come up..That's spooky.

If you use a limited account, try to run CMP as administrator.
Also, you could right-click an empty area of the taskbar and select "Cascade" to reorder all opened windows (this includes the CMP window).
If that doesn't do the work, then probably CMP hungs at startup for some reason.

What I need to do some more tests:

1) lemme know your system specs (incl. used desktop resolution)

2) would be good if you contact me via email so I can send you some test versions

It might be caused by the new profiler and hide/restore window methods introduces in 3.105. (Be sure to use 3.105a btw...) but as long as I can't repeat the issue in anyway I can't really help you. I will of course have a look at the code again.
