You're getting the data directly from an official MAME binary? If no, check the used datfile (for MAME people shouldn't use a dat anyway).
If you're not scanning all sets but only a selected number, check your settings in scanner->scanresults->setinformation again.

The changes from 3.103 to 3.104 were rather small and not merge-related at all. Maybe you send me your cmpro.ini and the belonging .cmp file for your used profile (cmpro settings folder).

And of course check if you got all sets, rompaths enabled and check if the merge settings are really ok.
