SubjectIgnored Files new Reply to this message

I'm having trouble getting ClrMame to properly read my GBA roms. All of the files were at some point (months ago) confirmed as good by GBA-Renamer, which at some point stopped reading new roms. I just now tried using ClrMame, and am having similar, if mixed, results.

All of my old roms fail to read (they're just ignored, as if they were text files or something). Some new roms I got from a specific ftp are read sucessfully. When I extract one of those zipped roms it then fails to be read by ClrMame.

Any help is very greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Extract roms???? So you're using unzipped sets? Well..then you most likely use a wrong scan method.
ClrMamePro accepts:

[rompath]\[setname]\[rom 1 ... rom n] for unzipped files
[rompath]\[setname.zip] for zipped files

I guess GBA roms are one-rom-per-set sets...so if you want to keep them unzipped, you have to create a subfolder for each set.

I was initially using seperatly zipped roms (sets). The unzipped case was only used as an example of how strange the problem is (without knowing the requirement of seperate dirs). When zipped, some 'sets' which in every other way appear valid are completly missed by ClrMame.

Well..first of all give a better description of:
"I'm having trouble getting ClrMame to properly read my GBA roms"

What does exactly fail? Maybe giving a simple example which file should do this or that but doesn't.
