Well back at it again. Not sure if this is going to be a priority since I have a semi-incomvenient workaround for it, but here goes.

Using Xgl in Linux, it causes windows to be controlled a bit differently, they are very "fluidic" in their movement. That being said...

When clrmame is launched now under Xgl (since the changes roman made for wine to allow the main launcher window to always appear), the launcher bar will only appear as a shrunk window with only an X button to close, and the window can't be resized. so basically i can't get to anything except the profiler because it auto-loads on startup.

Without Xgl enabled, almost the same thing happens, however, part of the scanner button is visible and clickable, from there i can go to rebuilder, and besides the profiler that's all i need.

So my workaround is to simply disable Xgl and run clrmame. So not a priority.

But Roman, if you're, i'm not sure if you can enable Xgl in you linux install under vmware, but if you find the time to check this out that would be awesome, thanks.

I've tested it with latest WINE/Ubuntu 7.10 and it works fine. If you got issues, follow the WINE/Crossover hints given on the download page.

Having recently switched to Linux (Ubuntu) I wanted to express my appreciation for the Wine support that you provide along with Clrmame. If Clrmame, and a couple of other apps I use frequently, weren't Wine compatible, I would not have switched.

I had to use the ini setting to get the GUI to work properly...

Well, wine/crossover requests are always welcome. It's interesting that different Linux distributions handle WINE (and in this case the window management) so differently. As mentioned, I tried Ubuntu 7.10 with latest WINE under VirtualPC and had no issues with the main window show/hide.
