I have over 2.3 gigs free on my mame32 box. my roms are stored on a linux box with a samba export, this could be a problem I'm sure. I finaly just brute forced it through the entire collection while doing other stuff I was able to rebuild evey rom 2-6 at a time, so I don't really have a way to find out what else it could be.

not a via motherboard
ram is good
the system is in top condition.

only thing that my be strange is the smb mounted rom directory.
