You do the same as for zipped sets and when scanning roms.

Follow the standard storing scheme:

rompath\setname\file 1 ... file n for not compressed sets
rompath\setname.zip (or .rar/.7z) for compressed sets

Have a look at the datfile you're using and check how sets are organised and then you know how to setup your folders.

For example snaps datfile looks like:

game (
name snap
description "snap"
rom ( name 005.png size 37264 crc 314e41e8 )
....

All pngs are in one set called 'snap'. So you have to setup a rompath to the parent folder of 'snap' and 'snap' itself holds all pngs.

Okay...understand.
For example Flyers in dat i found:

game (
name flyers
description "flyers"
rom ( name 005.png size 21001 crc 77f46d6d sha1 50d8dca0699862c1bcede9a5f200683834f98e21 )

In directory flyers exiting i create another directory called flyers. Now clrmame foun it and show this errors:

flyers [folder: flyers - size: 109mb]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\baraduka.png [wrong: baraduka.png] [right: baraduke.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\battleg.png [wrong: battleg.png] [right: bgaregcn.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\ftsoccer.png [wrong: ftsoccer.png] [right: fsoccerb.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\mariojp.png [wrong: mariojp.png] [right: marioj.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\ncombata.png [wrong: ncombata.png] [right: ncombath.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\sfa3r1.png [wrong: sfa3r1.png] [right: sfa3ur1.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\trvwhzho.png [wrong: trvwhzho.png] [right: trvwzh.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\trvwhzii.png [wrong: trvwhzii.png] [right: trvwz2.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\trvwhziv.png [wrong: trvwhziv.png] [right: trvwz4.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\trvwhzve.png [wrong: trvwhzve.png] [right: trvwzv.png] [not fixed]
wrong name: D:\Mame\flyers\flyers\trvwziii.png [wrong: trvwziii.png] [right: trvwz3h.png] [not fixed]

I check to fix wrong name....the program start ask if i want change name...work....but no fix ...WHY ??

I see that the first wrong name is baraduka.png...now i search in directory and i see that baraduka.png exist and also baraduke.png.....and if i manually delete baraduka.png and rescan with clrmame now not more show naturally wrong name for this name....What i wrong or there is another option to select ??

Thank again

You gave the solution already yourself.
The 'new name file' already exists and so it can't be renamed.

...btw...there is no real reason to keep such file not compressed (and for zipped sets, cmpro supports circular renames...)

Hi roman...

I think it's better to uncompress the pics.
In your front-end or mameui, the display of the snap will be faster, really, faster..
This could be usefull for people who have small spec.
Sure, a big PC, the gain will be small.
But try, the is difference.

Keep them compressed is more easy for a clrmamepro profile (only needed to set the zipfile folder as rompath)

But it's better to :
- Extract your snapshots in your pics folder
- set mame folder as rompath and
- add in Exclude-path all folders that are in mame folder but your pics folder
- add in unneeded mask all files extension that are in mame folder

...

With any PC from the last 5 years (and screw anything older ;)) you shouldn't see any speed difference when using compressed/uncompressed pngs...unless the fronend is lousy coded.

Ah, perhaps.

I use emuloader, and the difference on time of display is ,incontestable ,not debatable.

This might need a check with mameui to see difference...
