SubjectUnneeded Masks... new Reply to this message

Hiya, I'm trying to use the Unneeded Masks to filter out some of the stuff in my DAT file. This should be pretty straightforward - I want Clrmame to ignore all ROMs or sets beginning with "xxxx". However, I've tried xxxx* and xxxx*.* and neither of them seem to work... What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

unneeded masks are used to ignore specific files which are usually marked as unneeded. Normal behaviour is if they are not listed in the dat, they are listed as unneeded then. With unneeded masks you can force cmpro to ignore such found files.
So they are not used to ignore roms which are listed in the dat.

If you want to enable/disable sets, use e.g. regular expressions in 'set information' "select sets" edit boxes.

Erm.... where? Sorry, but I couldn't find these edit boxes in the Profile, Settings or Scanner windows. And I've been a CMP user for over 4 years!
Would appreciate a tip :) Thanks

"Set Information button",
Scanner->Scan Results->Set Information (bottom left)
