SubjectScanning for missing ROMs "only" Reply to this message

Hello,
Everytime a new MAME version comes out, a game that used to work suddenly doesn't anymore, usually because of a new "missing ROM" or an existing one that changed size.

My ROM collection doesn't grow anymore, I only own the ones I used to play as a kid, but I just keep updating MAME32 just in case, so with every new version of MAME, I scan my roms with ClrMame PRO.

My question is:
Everytime I use the Scanner with the Check "Missing" option to find the sets with "new missing roms", I get a list of all the sets I own, but unfortunately also the ones I don't. Is there a way to filter the results with a list that will tell me which of the sets that I currently have (and ONLY the ones I have, I don't want a long spammy list) is missing a ROM?

It seemed logical to me that by Checking the "ROMS" option and unchecking "Sets" under "You want to Scan" menu would produce the list I'm asking for, but it just lists all the available and unavailable sets.

The "Merger" option is currently doing it but not in a straightforward way (Merge will rebuild the working sets, then I have to compare the original files with the merged ones to find out which ones didn't make it, therefore the ones missing a new ROM)

The mame romset is curently and always in work in progress. Sometimes goddumps or baddumps are replaced with good ones or simply deleted. Don't be surprised that's your romset evolves.

The way clrmamepro behave is normal. if you check missing when scanning, if you have missing files on your small romset, it will show you !

To do what you want, you must :
-> load your profile.
-> go to scanner.
-> in the scan result windows, click on set information button.
-> make sure you have unticked 'logical not', 'include parent', 'include clones'.
-> click on the available sets button.
-> close the set information window to return to scanner.
-> launch your scan.

You should only scan the sets you have doind this.

This have already been quicly discussed here and Roman said it's a better way to scan all the profile sets...
But you do what you want

Thanks for your quick reply F00l. I'll follow your tips. As you say, I'm sure Roman has already discussed it before, I guess I wasn't using the right "Search" keywords when looking for old posts.

Either you disable the sets you don't want in the set information window (scanresults tree window->bottom left->set information) or you simply turn off the popupmenu option "view->Show all missing sets"
