SubjectWeird nodump / crc error on dat import. Reply to this message

Hey Roman, last few clrmame's I've been seeing errors like these coming through when first building the cache from the Mame.exe xml.

[Set boobhack includes at least one 'nodump' ROM
A valid checksum for it w/in its parent/clone relationship was found though.

Insert found checksum instead of using the 'nodump'.]

If I choose yes to insert the checksum I still get the error again the next time I refresh the profile's cache.. shouldn't the insertion of the checksum hold and prevent the errors in the future? Thanks -

The nodump - gooddump replacement only happens when the cache is being built. So each time the underlying dat or mame exe has changed. It doesn't happen when the cache is being loaded.

In other words, the dat/mame exe holds the problematic gooddump/nodump situation. While parsing they get optionally replaced and the cache is saved with the replacement. If the dat/exe changed again, the file is reparsed and the problem appears again.

...besides I'm on holiday and some thousand kilometers away from my pc........
