SubjectOSX and Samba problem new Reply to this message

I used to have all my emulation stuff on a linux server which I was using Samba to share out to my laptop, I've recently migrated over to a MacMini and OSX. It seems to all work quite well, apart from one small problem.

When I try to use ClrMame with MAME, It needs to run the -listxml option to build the database, I get a "Can't access X:\mame\mame.exe! Please check if the file is avaiable" error.

This used to work ok with my Linux box, I can actually double click on MAME.EXE and it launches with no problems, and I can also run the 'x:\mame\mame.exe -listxml' command from the commandline and it works with no problems.

I've checked all the permissions and it should be fine.

Any ideas how I can get this working?

hmm..sounds weird...I will have a look at this in 2009. Maybe you can write me an email about it, so I got your email and we can run some tests together...

well...what cmpro redirects the mame output to cmpro's tempfolder.
So it does a "mame.exe -listxml > cmpro\temp\_tempdat" (or whatever the path is)

Most likely you're missing some correctly set access rights....
