Is there a way to view which CHDs are missing?

Of course. Guess what scanner's CHD options are for 8).
Normally you got sets, roms, samples and chds enabled....that plus e.g. the missing check option lists you the missing chds.

I am updating my roms from an old build of MAME.

Can clrmame find the CHDs in my addpaths directory or do I have to manually copy them across ?

Yes, you can simply put the chds in a rompath (without any subpath) and cmpro's checks will detect them as wrong placed and moves them to their correct place (also creates the needed subfolder for it). You need to enable the name+unneeded checks and fix options for this....and of course "chd".

Well I just ran a scan after I got the latest chd versions from torrents and Clrmame doesnt move them, I had to move them manually.

I had everything ticked on the scan & fix name/uneeded etc. Maybe I missed something ?

Keep the options sets, roms, chds enabled, also at least the name + unneeded checks options. Put the chd in question in rompath and cmpro's scan will list them as wrongly placed (if the chd is a valid chd for the currently loaded database). If you got the fix options enabled, it will move it to its correct rompath subfolder.
Works fine here.
