SubjectMiss/Have lists Reply to this message

I've been having a problem with clrmamepro as of late(I do have the latest vesion, fresh installed).
After a scan, when I click either the "Miss List" or "Have List" buttons they produce somewhat random lists of roms. The list each contain roms that I have and don't have. There doesn't seem to be any logical pattern to either list.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

The lists don't have anything to do with your scan results. They don't use any of the settings (besides merge mode).

The buttons actually do a quick lookup in your paths and only check if a setname (as archive or folder) exists or not. No deeper check.

However, the logic is clear and works fine. If the set exists, it's put in the have list otherwise in the miss list. Of course these lists don't say anything regarding valid sets. It's not accurate, it's just a quick setname lookup.

Why do you think it lists something weird for you?

I think I might have discovered the problem.

I have a folder named "roms", in that folder I have standard roms(that don't need a BIOS).
In the "roms" folder there are other folders for roms that require a BIOS such as NEO-GEO, PlayChoice10, etc...

My mame.ini file has the following line:

rompath "roms;roms\Neo-Geo;roms\PlayChoice10;(etc...)

So, in clrmameplus settings when I click the "Import" button to import the rom paths from the mame.ini file, all paths are imported except the first one "roms".
That's why only some roms are showing up in the have/miss lists.

After manually adding the "roms" folder, the lists are working now.

Thanks

It's not a good idea to have rompaths in rompaths. You should separate them.
Something more like:
\MyRoms
\MyRoms\Misc
\MyRoms\NeoGeo

Where only the last two ones are setup as rompaths and \MyRoms only holds the subfolders and no sets.
